September 26th: Anger

Scripture

Ephesians 4:26

And “don’t sin by letting anger control you.” Don’t let the sun go down while you are still angry, for anger gives a foothold to the devil.

Observation

Anger is an emotion most of us feel on a daily basis, we must learn to handle it in the right way. Letting anger control you is giving satan a place to work in your life.  It will soon spread and become worse.

Application

When I am angry, I need to see if what I am angry about is something God would be angry about.  The filter can be as simple as that..  If it is, I should move to action and work to correct the problem…if it is not, I need to let it go and ask forgiveness if my anger has hurt others.

Prayer

God, I turn over my anger to you.  Use it to spur me on to do good work, and help me realize quickly when it is turning me away from you.
